About a year had gone by. One day, Charlie was feeling ill. One of his teeth hurt and he had gained weight. "Charlie, you need to see a doctor for your health. We can also see a dentist to find out what's wrong with your tooth." said Charlie's mom.Picture-Charlie holding his tooth, crying
Page 30
The dentist looked in Charlie's mouth and found a cavity in his hurting tooth. "You are going to have to get this cavity filled. The best way to remove plaque, causing tooth decay like cavities, is by brushing twice a day and flossing between the teeth everyday." said the dentist. "Thank you Dr. Hirsch." Then Charlie went to the doctor. At the doctor he found out he has high cholesterol and if he keeps eating unhealthy without any exercise, he can get diabetes. "Charlie, you need to watch what you eat and do some more exercises. Maybe get involved in a school sport and ride your bike around every once in a while. Try to get outside whenever you can instead of staying in your house." said Dr. Sidiki.

Over the next year, with the help of his mother and Maggie, Charlie ate healthier and lost weight. HIs cholesterol went down and he became more active.
